After years of faithful service and hundreds of successful deployments, it is time to bid farewell to one of the most renowned figures in the field of AEDs. The LIFEPAK CR Plus AED, introduced in 2002, is retiring with well-deserved honors.
In an interview with AED Magazine, the CR Plus shared the following thoughts: "For many years, I have worked tirelessly to promote a heart-safe working and living environment. I am grateful for the numerous successes I achieved alongside AED Solutions. With all my experience, knowledge, and robust features, I could have continued to make a significant contribution to the world of AEDs. However, I am eager to pass the torch to a new generation of AEDs. My little brother, the LIFEPAK CR2, has surpassed me, particularly in terms of connectivity and new technologies for the best patient care."
The LIFEPAK CR Plus is still active in various capacities, including participation in large Heart Safe projects, government organizations, and sports clubs.
Although the decision to take it easy is a tough one for CR Plus, he has chosen not to fully retire just yet. He will make his batteries and electrodes available for at least the next 10 years. "I may be taking it easy, but they'll never get rid of me entirely," CR Plus winks from his hammock.
