Is your automatic external defibrillator (AED) in need of replacement? It's one of the most critical safety tools in your company and can save a life in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest. While not everyone can be saved in such situations, studies have shown that early use of a defibrillator significantly increases the chances of survival. To ensure proper functioning, an AED must not only undergo periodic maintenance but also be replaced in a timely manner.
Equipment ages, and technology advances. Every AED (regardless of brand or use) contains parts with a limited lifespan. The average lifespan of an AED is typically around 8-10 years. This lifespan is often linked to the technical/economic depreciation of the device in combination with the manufacturer's warranty. This manufacturer's warranty varies depending on the manufacturer and AED type, but in most cases, it extends for a maximum of 8 years.
Despite periodic maintenance and timely replacement of parts, once the warranty period expires, the manufacturer can no longer guarantee the proper functioning of the AED. There is a possibility that an 'old' AED may not function correctly during an emergency. AED Solutions recommends replacing an AED (depending on the AED type) after eight to ten years to prevent malfunctions in the device. It's essential to check the age of your AED to determine if it's time for a replacement.
Do you own an 'old' AED? If so, your AED is due for replacement. When you order a new AED from AED Solutions and send us your old AED, you will receive a trade-in discount for your old unit. The amount of this discount depends on the brand and type of AED you order.
